Want to be Contact-Free?

If you're tired of wearing glasses or contact lenses, you may want to consider Lasik eye surgery at our Los Angeles LASIK Institute - one of the newest procedures to correct vision problems. Before you sign up for the surgery, get a clear picture of what you can expect.

Introduction
Laser in-situ keratomileusis, or LASIK, the most commonly performed type of laser surgery, is generally a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of common vision problems. Specifically, LASIK involves the use of a laser to permanently change the shape of the cornea, the clear covering of the front of the eye. LASIK is a quick and often painless procedure, and for the majority of patients, the surgery improves vision and reduces the need for corrective eyewear. However, as LASIK is a surgical procedure conducted on a delicate part of the eye, it is crucial that potential candidates are well educated on the benefits and risks of the procedure, understand the importance of a thorough screening by their physician, and maintain realistic expectations about the procedure's outcome.

The Facts given to patients At our Los Angeles LASIK Institute
At any Los Angeles LASIK Center the truth is the same
Lasik is surgery to a very delicate part of the eye to the Cornea
Millions of people have had Lasik, most very successfully.
As with any surgery, there are risks and possible complications and At our Los Angeles LASIK Institute we go over these in detail
Lasik may not give you perfect vision. The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) reports that seven out of 10 patients achieve 20/20 vision, but 20/20 does not always mean perfect vision.
If you have Lasik to correct your distance vision, you may still need reading glasses around age 45 (unless at our Los Angeles LASIK Institute you choose Blended Vision or Monovision.
Lasik surgery is too new to know if there are any long-term ill effects beyond five years after surgery.
Lasik surgery cannot be reversed.
Most insurance does not cover the surgery.
You may need additional surgery - called "enhancements" retreatments or fine tuning surgery- to get the best possible vision after Lasik.
