About Us

Professional VisionCare Associates is a full scope primary care optometry group providing eye examinations, routine and complex contact lens treatment, refractive surgery consultation and co-management, along with diagnostic and therapeutic health services. In addition, we are leaders in special effect contact lens fitting, design, and supply for theatrical use, since our inception over 60 years ago. Our artists and technicians have worked closely with the entertainment industry to create and facilitate many Emmy, Golden Globe and Academy Award winning effects. These artists allow us to offer soft lens prosthetic options to those with scarred or disfigured eyes.

Our facility is located in Sherman Oaks, California, in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. We use state of the art computer analysis with refraction, corneal topography, and visual field testing. This sophisticated technology is also applied to our precision spectacle lens laboratory. Over 1,000 ophthalmic frames are in the latest designer styles and materials. Our well-trained and professional staff members and doctors are available 6 days a week to set appointments, assist in the examinations, and handle the financial aspects of your care and services. Special effect and theatrical consultation is available by phone on a daily or emergency basis. Please browse our website for further details.

- Laser Vision Correction

Our office prides itself on keeping current with all the changes and enhancements in eye care, so that we can make recommendations that improve your quality of life and vision.

Since the early '90's, laser vision correction has been available on a widespread basis. LASIK, the most commonly performed procedure, uses a laser to sculpt and precisely reshape the cornea, to correct prescriptive imperfections such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. This reshaping helps the eye focus properly, thus reducing or eliminating the need for contact lenses or glasses.

Not everyone is a good candidate for laser vision correction, and only a specially trained doctor can determine whether or not you are a suitable candidate for this treatment. In order to provide this service to our patients, we have undergone rigorous instruction in this area and have been granted Clinical Affiliate status with the UCLA Laser Center, and co-manage with many ophthalmic surgeons in our area.

If you are interested in laser vision correction, please call our office. We will review your most recent examination results to determine whether you are eligible for laser correction and will schedule an appointment.

We are pleased to work with some of the most experienced and well-respected refractive surgery specialists in the Southern California area.
